"We have known Gary Foss for many years, first when he and his crew provided excellent house painting, staining and construction services for us, and then
recently, when his company recently cleared our residence of bats.
His crew’s work with bat removal continued the care and consistent service that has always been his trademark. Last winter, after the caulking and sealing work was completed, we were provided with an additional benefit…. the house stayed warmer. We also appreciated his timely responses to our concerns when follow up work was required.
We are very pleased to recommend him. "

Bats
Dear Neighbors:
I am writing this letter of recommendation for Gary‘s Bat Removal. Gary and his crew of trained workers have been servicing our log cabin located at 620 Clifford Drive, Lake Almanor Country Club for the past five years. We had the cabin built seventeen years ago and for the first twelve years did not have a problem. Then
back in 2003 we became infested with bats, with more than four hundred nesting in our walls. We could hear them and nobody felt comfortable sleeping in certain
rooms. They weren’t getting into the cabin, but the walls were alive with them and their noise.
Bats! They have been around for thousands of years. They’re prehistoric creatures and they had a genetic makeup that has more than stood the test of time.
How does one get rid of them? Not easily, as they can crawl between 1/4 to 1/6 of an inch opening. Any crack, roofing shingle opening or sideboard opening is
all they need. And they love the heat. Most all the houses built in the Almanor basin are not built with bats in mind, especially the log homes. To keep bats out…
a home must be completely sealed. It must be done in such away as to not lock the bats in the walls. They sleep during the day are active at night. Plus, we want the
bats, they eat the insects.
Problem is once they get into a place, they are like bees and their offspring are genetically, pre-dispositioned to return to the same location, year after year.Truth is, you never get rid of them, because they keep coming back. That’s where Gary‘s Bat Removal Service comes in with almost thirty years of experience and a good reputation in the Lake Almanor area. They are the area’s bat experts. They dedicate their services to removing the bats in such a way as they don’t become entrapped within the walls, yet can’t get back in. What they do is difficult, hard and at times dangerous work. What they do for me is stay on the job, year after year because it is not as if you got them, they’re gone and they won’t get back in. They’Il be back each year, looking for new access areas or an old one which has dried up and has a small opening.
I can highly recommend Gary’s Bat Removal Service and am relieved that I can call them each year when the bats return. lf I were building a new home, I would make sure my contractor (who probably doesn’t know much about bats) consults with Gary because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The bats are here to stay and we want them here. We just want to keep them out of our belfrys and homes. The next time you have a bat problem or concern call Gary’s Bat & Bird Removal at 258-2811."
